A Connection Beyond Words
At the heart of our work is a relationship—one that goes beyond language. When a person and a horse engage with one another, they’re not just coexisting in the same space—they're actively communicating through movement, intention, and energy. This connection calls both to be fully present, body and mind. As The Natural Lifemanship Institute beautifully puts it: "Horses do, indeed, invite us to clearly communicate beyond words with our entire being."
This kind of interaction creates a unique space for healing, growth, and transformation. Horses respond authentically and without judgment, making them powerful partners in helping us tune into ourselves, regulate our nervous systems, and build safe, trusting relationships.
Equine-Assisted Learning (EAL) is an experiential approach that supports individuals in developing emotional regulation, nervous system awareness, self-trust, and relational skills— all while interacting with horses on the ground, no riding involved.
Our work is rooted in compassion and trauma-informed care. We create a space where participants can:
Whether you're here for personal growth, trauma healing, or simply to rediscover your sense of connection, the horse meets you as you are—and invites you to be even more.
We walk beside you—gently, honestly, and with the guidance of these incredible animals.
At Stable Connections of TN, we specialize in the principles of Natural Lifemanship, partnering our clients with horses as a unique way of fostering personal and/or professional growth, connection, and relationship.
Our team is dedicated to providing a safe space for our clients, whether as individuals or in a group setting, to explore what connection and relationship with self and others means to them.
We pair the principles of Natural Lifemanship with years of horse experience to guide clients to new understanding of themselves and how they relate to self and others.

Cynthia discovered the power of the human–horse connection during her very first encounter with a horse. By the age of 13, she was hooked—raising money by washing neighbors’ cars to buy her first horse. Since then, horses have always been a part of her life.
Though her passion for horses ran deep, Cynthia also felt a strong calling to care for others. She chose a career in nursing, dedicating herself to helping people heal. Over the years, she and her husband raised two children, lived overseas twice, embracing life’s adventures.
When time and space finally allowed, Cynthia returned to her roots. With over 40 years of horse experience and a healthcare background, she was drawn to equine-assisted learning—a field that beautifully blends both worlds to support healing through connection.
While living in Costa Rica, she began training with EAGALA. Alongside a few close friends, she helped create Chicas y Caballos, a program designed to empower local teen girls through connection, communication, and purposeful action. The program continues to support local girls.
Cynthia became interested in Natural Lifemanship - an approach to equine assisted therapy and learning rooted in the science of relationships. As a nurse, its brain-based principles deeply resonated with her. She and her husband returned to the U.S., in 2019 and are living in TN where she has continued her training with Natural Lifemanship, ultimately becoming dual certified and earning certification as a Trauma Recovery Coach with International Association of Trauma Recovery Coaching.
This work has not only equipped her to help others heal—it has also lead to her own personal growth and healing.

Paige is a native Coloradan currently living in TN with her husband, two dogs and her horse Apache. In CO Paige and her husband ran a professional theatre company which included working with teens and at risk youth in their TheatreRap program.
This program, originated by her husband after the Columbine tragedy, provided groups of youth a safe place to share their personal stories and struggles and turning these into plays for their peers, parents, counselors, probation officers, judges etc. This award winning program inspired Paige to explore other avenues of establishing healing through connection and communication.
Paige is a lifelong animal parent, advocate, caretaker and has spent several years working with horses as a student and teacher in the principles of Natural Horsemanship.
When friend Cynthia Beeman introduced her to Natural Lifemanship it seemed a most serendipitous next step in her commitment to the wellbeing of animals and people.
